Employee has to be present to cancel visa

I have completed a little over four years in my present company and resigned for a better opportunity. How should my end of service benefits be calculated? My company is calculating it at 14 days’ basic salary for each year of the first five years. Is this right or should it be calculated as 21 days’ salary for each year of the first five years? Please clarify.

Approach court against bank’s harassment

Having stopped to repay a loan to a local bank here due to some arguments on charges, they got a guarantee cheque in my name bounced and filed a criminal case against me. The court fined me in this case. Now, the bank is threatening to file a civil case, as well. Will the court inform me about the hearing or after getting the judgement, will the police just arrest me? How may I prove that there are some valid reasons behind the default? The amount is small. Please, advise.

I have been staying with my family in a flat in Abu Dhabi since May 2002. In December 2011, the property agent I hired the flat from, handed it over to the landlord. We were then verbally informed that the whole building needed maintenance and we have to vacate the flat at the end of our current tenancy contract which ended in May this year. I approached the landlord to renew my contract for one year. He said he was ready to renew the contract but he wanted a 35 per cent increase from the current contract amount. I did not agree and approached the Rent Dispute Committee which advised me to deposit the amount in that office with only a five per cent increase as per the UAE law and renew the flat up to May 2013. Now, the landlord served a lawyer notice to me stating that I have to vacate the flat in September 2012. What should I do? Should I vacate the flat this month? I am worried about my two children who are studying in a school in Abu Dhabi. The building is in good condition and safe to live in. There is also no notice from the municipality or any other authority regarding the building safety. Please, advise.

I am working on a commission basis in one of the insurance firms in Dubai. As per the contract of employment, the company gave me a fixed monthly allowance for the first three months to be deducted from my commission against the business I am supposed to do later. Since I have not generated any business, it is not possible for me to continue with the company without any salary. I want to quit, but the company is asking for the money they gave me for the last three months. Please advise.
